I've upgraded, but my contract renewal date hasn't changed

Anonymous

I've upgraded to a new 12 month contract last night (this is my second 12 month contract), but my contract renewal date hasn't changed; it's still set to [October] 2015 rather than 2016.

If I transfer my mobile details from my current sim to a blank sim will this reset my renewal date?

Thanks.

It will make no difference - The system takes a couple of days to update but it will do so automatically.

The O2 staff (who placed my order) I communicated with on chat informed me to allow 14 days cooling-off period. So if I don't need to do anything else (like swapping my sim) and my old contract will be cancelled automatically what did the O2 staff mean by allowing 14 days cooling-off period?

Thanks.

You have 14 days to change your mind basically. If you find you dont get on with the phone or have other problems this is classed as your cooling off period. it starts from the day you receive the phone

14 days to cancel your phone and / or change your mind. It's a legal requirement these days.
