Crap O2 email

Anonymous
Not applicable
what the hell is up with O2 email? I've just spent some time composing a rather long email to a friend and as soon as send is pressed, up pops an error message. The mail is lost and I've wasted all that time. Not the first time this has happened. I should have known it and used my AOL mail account. I'm so glad that I'll be paying Sky for this account anymore come the end of April. Good riddance.

O2 email is being phased out. It officially ended in September 2013, unless you transferred over to Sky broadband. They did email and text all existing customers....However over the past few weeks even those servers are closing, so many people are struggling to use O2 email. You may well be advised to set up a new email account...

You were told in your last post in September 2014 if it still works you're lucky as it has been closed down and we've been advising that you no longer try and use it.

Even when O2 email was up and running for us all, there had always been a problem writing long emails. I had the same issue and was the reason I stopped using O2 as my email client years before they retired it.

I agree jonsie - the timing out issue was most annoying to the point where you were best advised to write the email in notepad and then copy and paste it into the web client.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

It's always been like that certainly since I started using it in 2008, I use it with an email client like Thunderbird and it's fine.

Nobody should be relying on it now.

I'm totally surprised that anyone would want to. It's always been a very basic and unreliable service and people should change immediately.

Yes, I still sign into a lot of sites using the address even though I haven't had O2 email for over 12 months now.
