Can somebody explain why, if I disconnect from the Community without logging off, I can reload the page an hour or so later without being required to log on again ?

I've never had this occur with any other website.

Hi beenherebefore,

As jonsie says, this may be due to cookies in your browser. Please clear them and have another go for me slight_smile

EDIT: We do have an inactive logout time.

Just to be clear I was talking about PC - I still have to log in on mobile.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Maybe it's just Chrome then but I've not logged on for months.

I'm on Chrome.

I just logged into the main O2 site then came out without logging off, waited 5 minutes then reloaded and got straight back in already logged in.

On my PC using Firefox. ....as soon  as I close the O2 forum down (without logging out) I can get back on within 10 mins without logging in again. I also know that within that 10 minute time frame if I check users online I am still showing....

If it is longer than 10 minutes, then I am gone from showing online AND I have to log in again.

My only true way to go offline immediately on my PC is to log out

I use Chrome on my phone and always have to log in

In response to that :

1. As I have said, this does not happen on any other website where I have to log in.

2. I'm using Chrome Incognito mode.

3. To be certain I ran CCleaner.

I don't think this is connected to cookies otherwise I would see the same on other websites.

I'm guessing it's the inactive logout time that's the cause.

I have been out of the forum for around 4 hours (during the evening) and been able to load it and not have to log on.

Yeah, Chrome on my home PC does this as well, but not Chrome at work, I have to login after an hour when I'm there.

For instance, My PC has been swicthed off all night, fire it up, open Chrome and navigate here...boom....logged in!

It saves me having to login at home so no big deal, but I am assuming I told Chrome on my home PC to save my credentials

@Anonymous do you start at the log in page with your username+password already entered or do you go straight into the main web page ?
