Hi

Are you on a 4g tariff ?

Are you in a 4g area ?

Help link

https://www.o2.co.uk/4g/setup/

http://mobi.o2.co.uk/pl/svt/si/mo2couk/po/o2uk/pa/4ghome

If you're using a nano SIM card now check it says 4g on it. If not then a 4g nano sim should come with the phone.

perform the sim swap which moves your tariff and mobile number to it here http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk

Or ask the O2 store to do this if you don't get one with the phone.

Takes from a few minutes to 24 hours approx to settle.

Hi there,

I'm waiting for my iphone 6 to arrive today, and have a query around the 4G.

My current iphone 5/sim doesn't support 4G, and I received a text from o2 saying 'Your 4G service is ready, make sure your 4G sim in in your 4G phone' - Do I need to do anything to get this sim, or will it be in with my iphone 6 delivery?

Thanks

If you have a 4G tariff and are in a 4G area, no set up is required. It will work straight out of the box.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

If one does not come with the phone then any O2 shop has them and will perform the sim swap for you.

Takes from a few minutes to approximately 24 hours to settle. Turn airplane mode on and off to help the re connection through this time frame.

You'll know its started as your old sim will lose connection.

You will get 4G in your status bar and the speeds associated with it if your in a 4G catchment area.

No set up required....the new sim and handset will be 4G ready!

If you havent used an iPhone before, make sure your tariff includes an iPhone variant data bundle so that features such as Visual Voicemail work correctly
