upgrade to 2nd hand iPhone4

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've been offered a 2nd hand iPhone (from trusted person).

I understand I need to swap my old (large) sim for a micro sim.

My current Sony Ericsson is O2 pre-pay (I guess now called Pay & Go).

Assuming all I want is basic telephone and text messaging and wifi internet access on our home network, am I missing any gotchas if I just order a Pay & Go sim swap and fit it myself?

correct all you need to do is the sim swap process to keep old number and credit.

And change the apn's so you get internet on the go and mms etc. see the guide here http://mobileguide.o2.co.uk/devices/device.jsp?deviceId=666&tab=8

Sim swap will take up to 24 hours to complete usually or quicker but keep turning your phone on & off to see if the sim is activated yet

If all you're doing is swapping your sim to use in your new phone, and you're not intending on using any data other than your wifi at home, make sure your mobile data is switched off. If you don't, you could be in for a big gotcha.
