I am writing on behalf of my husband. Suddenly he can't send texts with his iphone 3gs. He can send imessages, receive calls, send calls, but not sms text. I have done a full restore, rebooted the sim etc.

He is pay and go since 5mths ago with no problems at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Check his tariff in MyO2.

Does he have unlimited texts for example or maybe has he run out.

Does he have credit to send text messages.

If you can try his sim in another phone to see if he can then send texts to see if the iPhone is at fault.

Faulty sim cards can be replaced by requesting a blank sim online or by popping into an o2 store and they would carry out the swap my sim procedure there.

Ask him to go into : Settings > Messages > to ensure 'send as sms' is toggled on.

Ask him to ring O2 Uk Customer Services on 4445 to have his account checked.

Check the message centre number stored on the phone
Message service centre settings
+447802000332 for Pay Monthly, or
+447802092035 for Pay & Go
Remember to check that the message centre number starts with +44 and not 0044
