In the last few days, 9 men have been killed in an avalanche on Mont Blanc, 22 wedding guests have been blown up by a suicide bomber, soldiers have been killed protecting another country, over 100 people in Russia have been killed in floods ... parts of the UK are still getting flooded and some of us lost electricity for a few days during the electric storms which hit Britain ... what else ?? oh yes - a few folks complained that they lost mobile phone signal for a few hours !!!

Sadly people are very slow to count their blessings nowadays, we seem to be turning into a very selfish society.
I do understand the frustrations when this kind of thing happens, but mobiles should never be relied upon for emergency contact, as systems can never be 100% reliable.
To me they are a useful addtion to a modern life, but not a replacement for one.
I rely heavily on my conputer and when it gave up totally I had to replace it, annoying yes, but you have to be resilient to these things, it was fully backed up so I was able to carry on as normal with minimum interruption.
You can buy a cheap mobile for under £10, stick a sim from another network in it, and you are to some degree protected, it's not rocket science.
As you say there are more important things to worry about in the world. ![]()
