Nope, you just locked it to virgin, that's all.
I assume it's new and from carphone warehouse?
Call virgin to unlock it

How annoying. I just wish this practice of locking a phone to the first sim inserted would end. Just frustrating and time consuming. Yes I know networks think they have good reasons...but I don't. slight_frown

Not sure why its the networks fault when CPW openly sell devices as sim free handset, when they arent really as they lock to the first sim.

I would take it back to CPW Dixons especially if they didnt tell you what would happen on first sim card insertion.

The only place to buy a true sim free iphone is Apple direct.
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

They have been doing this a couple of years now but only for iPhone. I fail to see the reasoning behind it. I would take the phone back as faulty....

Also I will mention here that Game offered an unlock service (including iphones) It used to cost £25 but worth it for those wanting a phone unlocked before the network allow it
