Part of O2 terms and conditions. They never unlock a newly released iPhone for approximately 6 months...OR unless you pay for the device in full....

Then you need to contact customer services (not live chat) At least they will be able to confirm the device is paid off and take action. http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

O2 have advised they will no currently unlock iPhone 7 paid off or otherwise, as they are trying to ensure that people who buy the phone from O2 want to use it on O2

@PhoneChanger thats not true. This sentence is taken directly from the link I provided initially

"If you've got an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus, you won't be able to get it unlocked unless you've paid off your Device Plan in full."

@Cleoriff i'm just passing on information i've been told. My device plan is paid in full, i have an iPhone 7, yet O2 will not unlock it, for the reasons I quote above (and that was via the non-live chat route).

Luckily i'm not bothered as I have no plans to leave O2 or sell the handset at the moment.

@PhoneChanger. All I can say is, unless O2 change the information which is clearly laid out in their own t&c's they are duty bound to unlock if that criteria has been met. Many people would have bought the device knowing that was a condition of sale. I will ask @Toby if he can get further information. O2 could be accused of misselling under those circumstances

Sadly you cannot rely on info from any CS route to be accurate currently.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
