Who else feels cheated by O2?

I can't believe how terrible O2 have been to their existing customers during the release of the 4S. First they disregard the opportunity to upgrade early to anyone paying less than £40 a month on a contract, then they take the fast track option away before any decent stock is back in-store!
What is the point of extending the free handset deal on a 900min tariff to the end of November but cutting off the fast-track option before this date? In doing so, cleary they are aiming towards new customers while **** their existing in the process. What happened to loyalty?
Considering the new tariffs are going to be £40+ for less data, it's no wonder people are opting to jump ships to the likes of 3 network - £35 for 2000 minutes, unlimited data including tethering. In my opinion, 500mb as a standard bolt-on in this day and age is poor, epecially for a data hungry device.
I've been a loyal customer since the release of the 3G and always been on an over £40 tarif. I hardly ever complain about anything but the way O2 have handled this is beyond me. My contract runs at the begining of next month...I will be considering my options.

Re: Who else feels cheated by O2?

It's alright looking at it in that perspective, but O2's stock is running low on devices such as the iPhone 4S and so this could be a reason why they have removed the Fast Track Upgrade option. They may have also removed it as most customers who were looking at a fast track upgrade may have already done it now. On the other hand, looking at Three's network. They do not offer as good coverage as O2 may be able to, and when looking at the speeds that you will achieve on 3G compared with O2, these will be a lot slower speeds on the Three network compared to O2.
All in all, you may have limited data on O2's network (there is always The Works Package @ £10/month offering 1GB of data and 50MMS), but the network speed will always be at an acceptable rate and you will receive 3G coverage in most outdoor areas. Just my opinion.
The information I provide cannot be used as a guarantee and information should be validated with customer services.

Adam, regardless of what reasons you give for the withdrawal of the offer, the fact is, it has been withdrawn and left a lot of people very peeved.
In my opinion, O2 are no longer competitive, somewhat elitist and not the company they used to be.
I take issue with your asessment of O2's 3G network, I have found it to be hopeless. Are you saying that Three offers a poorer 3G network than O2?

Re: Who else feels cheated by O2?

I like the Nexus but it still feels like any other cheap Samsung phone. The Galaxy S2 also feels quite cheap and fragile.
The iPhone 4 on the other hand feels like a well built piece of kit and does exactly what I need it to do very well...calls, texts, emails, music, web, facebook, daft games eg: Angry Birds and that's about it! :smileyvery-happy:

Did you not see, I've moved to 3. When the phone drops to 2G, supplied by Orange, it's not on the 900 Mhz frequency, therefore I don't have any issue.
Furthermore there's a fix in the pipeline, being rolled out as I type, and it doesn't turn the phone into a brick, it occasionally mutes it when on 2G.
Having owned an iPhone for the past 3.5 years I can say, IMO, the Nexus is a better phone. Yep, it does feel slightly more fragile, but the overall experience is great, but I do have big hands.

Completely depends on where you are from what i've found. I've been with O2 for years now and the last two years on a 3GS. In my experience where i am 99% of the time i have no 3G issues. When the 4GS was launched i looked at moving to 3 and checked their signal in my area with a free PAYG sim. It was garbage...no signal at all in half the house and barely scraping a signal, therefore likely to increase battery wear, when leaving the house, where i work and around my local area. Its only when i get to the town centre that it improves but tends to disappear again once i go inside places. Also because its a built up area there is no Orange fallback onto 2G as this isnt nationwide just in some places so cant always be relied on. I could have got a 4GS on a decent deal with them and get unlimited data...but it would have been pointless as i wouldnt have a signal to use any data anyway!!
