Can I use my UK iphone whilst on business in USA? What is the best and cheapest way of doing this?

If it is a contract phone use the Tugo app whilst connected over a WiFi network.
Otherwise it will be very expensive.
If you can get a local sim card and give out that number to any contacts it will be cheaper for you (to call within USA), but not for calling to / from the UK.

If you need to unlock your phone for another sim card the form is here https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form

If you need to look at Tugo the details are here http://www.o2.co.uk/apps/tu-go

Hi

Yes but it's expensive

I'd get it unlocked and use a local SIM card if that's convenient. Be aware some USA networks charge to receive texts !

Unlock here https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form

I was going to suggest getting the local SIM then diverting your UK number to it. However it seems you can't divert to an international number using the *21*nnnnnn# format - anyone know why?

I guess because you would be paying horrendous costs and would make the local sim pointless.

@Anonymous  Would the O2 International SIM be of any benefit to the OP?   see https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/international-sim

OOPS1  Sorry - my mistake. The International SIM seems to be for someone in UK making calls to other countries.   I read too quickly and understand too slowly!!!

It would only help friends at home to call the OP in the USA if they were using a local sim card on a US network.
