My mum is having an issue with her iPhone (yes she got it back again!).

This morning she went to update her apps in the app store (she had 8 to update - Facebook, bingo blitz, etc).

Upon clicking update it asks her to put her password in, which she does, but then nothing happens.  The app she clicked to update, the wheel (to show that it is updating) disappears and it is as if she hasn't clicked to update the app.  The same happens on all 8 apps.

I logged her in to her Apple account online to check that she is using the correct password and she is.

I have double clicked the home button to close the app store, I have logged her out of Apple/iTunes on her phone and I have done a hard reset but it is still not working.

Has anybody got any ideas?

I would go I to iTunes and pick apps on the lh side of the screen.

Click on them waiting to update and under the various options that show in the pop up box delete them.

@gemz4the1

Then sync and let your content move across.

Worse case scenario is you have to download them again.

You could seek help from an apple Genius Bar via http://concierge.apple.com/reservation/gb/en/techsupport/

Try a reset of your iPhone by ;

Hold the Top Button and Home Button until the Apple Logo appears, and then let go of both. Your iPhone will reset.

And or ;

Settings , General , Reset , Reset All Settings.

She has held the home button and the top button until it appears and it makes no difference.

I don't understand what you mean where you say about the 'various options' - the only option that appears is to update the app.

Is she using a PC or Mac for the iTunes programme ?

Ie on a mac

Open iTunes.
Left hand side under audiobooks is APPS

All apps will show both updated ones and any to update.

Click on the offending app

Hit Ctrl and click on mouse or trackpad and a pop up box shows with ; get info / show in finder / show in iTunes Store / delete.

Oh sorry I thought you meant on the phone.

She was trying to update them on her phone.

She has a PC.

I will get her to try to update them when she plugs it in to the PC.

I will let you know if it works.

Thanks BoB

Ok.

Also ref the iPhone church in the settings.

Settings - iTunes & App Store - Use mobile data. (Toggle to on.)

You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.

Also try ; Double tap the icon of the waiting app and hopefully it should resume the download.

Just to update you, my mum plugged her phone into the computer and updated the apps.

However, she is still getting a notification on the app store on her phone that there are 8 apps to update.

She has done a hard reset (hold home and top button).

Could it be a bit of a bug with the app store?

It can't be Gemma as I've been Updating my apps this morning.

I actioned some via my iPhone and some via iTunes on my MacBook Air to see if all was ok both ways.

It's working on my iPad Air too.

Ask your mum to choose another fresh app to download to see if that gets the glitch moved.

Hmmmmm ok.

I'll tell her to wait until the next update comes out and if it is the same then I may have to reset it to factory settings for her.
