Third party screens and Insurance

Anonymous

Hiya,

I have insured my phone on o2, however, my friend offered me an instant screen repair when it was smashed by a stranger, will o2 Insurance still cover me with a third party screen?

No. If you have insurance, use it.

Why would you want to use a third party repairer and lose any warranty? Use the insurance.

It would have to be sent to O2 for them to repair it under their insurance terms.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I've no idea, it was spur of the moment, will they still cover me?

I doubt it very much, they would have wanted, quite rightly, to inspect it.

Not if the repair has already been done elsewhere.

It's highly unlikely that your O2 insurance will cover you for anything concerning that phone as it has now been tampered with by a third party.

Nope. You should have either used your insurance or gone straight to Apple
