Re: Swapping to a micro sim? Do it in the right place!

Thanks for that - I understand the process, but I was unsure whether the activation in itunes was supposed to happen before or after the micro-sim is activated? Are there separate processes?
The instructions I was following implied that the phone was activated in itunes and then the micro sim could be inserted and setup.
Apologies if I wasn't clear - to reiterate; do I setup the micro sim before the phone will be activated (i.e. the 'waiting for activation, this may take some time' message will disappear)?
I am sorry if I'm asking daft questions, I'm just a bit confused about activating with itunes and setting up the micro-sim..

Re: Swapping to a micro sim? Do it in the right place!

I tried going through swop my sim but it kept coming up with there is a problem with the number. Now the guy in the O2 store did scan it before giving it to me, might that mean that it's already registered? What affect does that have?
And of course as it wouldn't go through it kept restarting and I ended up with 3-4 new pin numbers then the message said I couldn't do anything until tomorrow, But then the problem would be the same wouldn't it?
Would it be best to phone them up in the morning?
Or do you think it might have gone through anyway once I started the swop, having given my phone number etc.
Just a bit confused :smileytongue:

Now thinking (from reading stuff) that I've been given the wrong microsim!
I'm on Simplicity but probably got a PAYG sim. Great!

Re: Swapping to a micro sim? Do it in the right place!

There is no difference between a PAYG sim and a monthly one it only changes with the number and plan connected to that sim. So if there is a problem with your plan they can just swap it over with the same sim.

Thanks Brendan, but if there is no difference why doesn't it work on the swopyoursim page?

Re: Swapping to a micro sim? Do it in the right place!

Just talked to a very nice lady on the O2 customer service line. Turns out it DOES matter which card you get and I got given the wrong one (ie the PAYG one).
They're sending me out a new one :smileyhappy:
