Just have your mobile number and your new sim serial number. Don't tell them you have cut down your sim,there's no need if it's working ok. Incidentally you could just have ordered a free sim online from O2, mine took 3 days.

Thanks that helps I am at work and can only view on my iPhone, just wondering though will o2 know it's not a micro sim by the sim number, surely the sim number will be on a database that tells o2 whether it is standard or micro. I will try the swap my sim link as well
I've tried to do the sim swap online twice now and it's still not working. First one was yesterday morning at 9.30 and then I tried it again at 10.30 this morning. Put my mobile number in, got the text with code and then entered that followed by the new microsim serial. I'm not doing anything daft or missing anything out am I?
My problem is that I've got myself and the wife an iPhone 4S for Christmas, upgrading from our 3GS's. She doesn't know this so I can't risk swapping her SIM if it doesn't happen smoothly and within a few hours/overnight. Looks like I'll have try and do it on Christmas day and keep my fingers crossed
