Phone locked to 02 no contract attached

I have transferred my number into another phone that I am still with 02

I have a Talkmobile contract I now want to use my older Iphone for - but it says its locked.  I've asked 02 to unlock it, but it still says its locked

Any idea what i can now do?

They can, but that which you state isn't clear to me.

That's why I said the OP's posts didn't make sense to me. I think they're saying that they have an O2 and a Talkmobile sim, and they want to use the Talkmobile sim in the iPhone that's locked to O2. It's either that or I've got it completely wrong.

Simply putting the sim back in the iphone and waiting until it shows up as being used in My O2 and then request the unlock via the link in My O2.
