Hi,

I just got a new iPhone 5C on Pay and Go.

I need to set up the Personal Hotspot on it but it's not on the phone.

What do I need to do to find it and set it up?

You can take a sim only contract from the shop links on here..

https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/simplicity

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

You must upgrade to a sim only or full contract if the Hot Spot function is a deal breaker for you to tether your iphone to another device or buy a device like an O2 pocket hotspot.

How do you change to full contract? Is there way to do this through myO2? Or is there a link you can provide for information on changing from Pay and Go to Pay Monthly?

Otherwise I'll need to return the phone unfortunately as tethering is a deal breaker.

Thanks for your help.

You're welcome.

Do as MI5 says or ring cs on 4445.

If you can pass a credit check you should have no issues.

If your within the 7 day cooling off Period you could return the iPhone and sim. Refund it and take out a full pay monthly contract.

Thank you so much. So if I take out one of these sim only contracts I'll definitely have the Personal Hotspot on the phone and will be able to tether?

Yes

I assume you paid retail price around £430 for the iPhone 5c on Payg ?

It may be cheaper to open up a full contract.

Thank you. I'll just go with the sim, it works out the around the same price per month as I would have been paying with a bolt on anyway and I don't have to commit to 2 years. Thanks for all your help.
