Oh no...I have dropped my iPhone 6s...can I put my SIM into another phone?

Hi

My hands were freezing and I dropped my iphone 6s and smashed all of the screen (despite it having a protective case).

I can't afford to get it fixed yet because of Christmas. (no insurance...I know...I am an idiot)

If I save all the details on icloud will I be able to put the SIM for this phone (I am on a contract) into a new iphone when i can eventually get one without losing everything?

Thank you

@Anonymous The simple answer is yes. If you're putting the sim into another phone that isn't an Apple phone, just make sure the phone takes the same sized sim. If you need to get a different sized sim for your replacement phone you can go into an O2 store and they will swap it for you, along with all your details. Also if it's not an iPhone you're going to use, you'll need to call customer service to change the data from idata. All this can be switched back when you get your damaged phone repaired.

Of course you cloud will only info upto the point you back up now. It won't save anything new unless you use another iPhone in the interim.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
