Not receiving text messages

I have the iPhone 5 and for several months now I have not been receiving text messages on my phone, predominantly from other iPhones, but have been receiving them on my iPad. I have gone through technical help at O2 and they have always told me to reset my phone, which I have done, but this doesn't work. I would be grateful with any help with this

Settings - messages.

In send and Recieve is a tick next to your number and e mail address and next to your number in Start New Conversations from.

Also is your Apple I.d at the top.

Perhaps have your SIM card swapped at an o2 store or have one posted to you and perform the SIM swap yourself.

as mentioned by bandofbrothers, try the sim swap

if that fails, and you still won't receive messages, make an appt online with Genious Bar at your local Apple store

I have tried switching the iMessage feature off and on again, didn't help the issue.
Thanks

If the messages are comming through to the ipad then there is an issue in the imessaging system on the iphone.

A sim swap may help but unsure if it will as the iphone is showing as activated for imessaging do they send ok as imessages from the iphone

In the 'start new conversations' it was only my email address that was ticked, we will wait and see if that makes the difference.
Thanks for taking the time to reply to this.
