No service after upgrading

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've just upgraded my phone, I inserted the sim that came with the new phone but my signal says no service, I keep turning it off and on again over the past 24 hours but still nothing, I think this may be normal and have a feeling it could take up to 48 hours but just wanted to check if this is true or not?

Have you done a sim swap yet ?
http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/

or use your old sim if it fits - the upgrade will have been applied to your account and your old sim updated by now.

Currently using:

Thank you for your reply, I thought if you up grade they give you a new sim to put in it? I've always been with O2 but can't remember what I've done in the past when I've upgraded, will try my old sim, thank you

They give you a new sim in case your old one is a different size, but the new sim isn't activated until you activate it if needed.

If you have a signal at the top of the screen then the sim is active.
Try swiping left and right on the screen you are on to get to your home screen.
