Hi - was speaking to someone from work the other day who mentioned that the new i-phone is to be released in June/July and shall be 4G ??? My contract is up at the end of May & i am desperate to upgrade my i-phone 8gb 3g. Do i hang on for the possibility of a new i-phone coming out ?? or do i dive in and get the 3gs. Has anyone else heard of a new one & if so any clues on what "new" things it may have ??

It will not be '4G' but it will be 4th Generation. The rumoured spec however looks prett awesome..especially the 5MP camera with flash, removable battery, higher res screen, faster chip and 64Gb drive.

And it will probably not be available in this country until toward the end of the year. And then only on contract.

From my sources, flash camera, front camera, thinner device, a bit more rectangular thus it is thinner. Apple will probably drop the plastic back. Battery isn't meant to be removable.

With regards to availability, it will be launched simultaneously as previously.

This is pretty funny. Turns out the new iphone is 4G after all. I can hardly wait until my contract is up so that I can upgrade. I really love the new features, a front camera, higher screen resolution, more ram and faster cpu. There are lots of really awesome apps that are designed specifically for the 4G.

You might want to check the dates on some of these threads you are dredging up.
