New Carrier update 24.1

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi All

I had a prompt to install new carrier settings at the weekend. My version is now O2 24.1. I have since noticed that it has removed the option to select 4G/3G/2G and replaced it with the old enable 4G toggle. I am really annoyed as I live in a marginal 3G area so often lock my phone to 2G when at home.

I hope this is reversed in a future update.

Graham.

I updated on Friday and now I also don't have the option to swich from 4G to 3G on my 6S. Annoying since where I work (Tower, London), the 4G connection is really poor and pages don't load, emails don't come through. I used to get round this problem by switching to 3G whenever I got to work.

It took about 2 years last time to fix it.

Switch 4G off on the toggle and it will use 3G instead?

Don't want the 3G toggle on all the time. I quite often just have mine on 2g!

Yeah, it's the fact that 2g can't be locked on again that's the issue.
O2 seem to think it's not required because their 3g/4g is so good everywhere wink

I have a 6s Plus on iOS 10 Dev Preview 3. I have carrier O2 24.5.8

I have Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options > Enable 4G.

No 2G/3G/4G toggles.

In the setting above, I have it set to Data Only. If I try to select Voice and Data I get a message to contact O2 to enable it. I tried contacting them and they kept trying to give me instructions on how to enable Visual Voicemail Smiley Mad

Should I be able to enable Voice and Data ?

No, not yet.
It's written into 10 for those carriers that support it but o2 don't as yet.
