I just got an IPhone 5 and when I put the sim in it just says 'no service' constantly. I know there is service as my old phone is working. I'd really appreciate some help or advice. Thanks in advance.

You mean your old sim is still working or by putting the sim in your old phone it's working ok?

I bought it second hand. I had to get a new nano sim as my old phone uses a micro sim.

Two different sim types. I thought I'd just put the nano sim in the iPhone and it would work. Then do the sim swap.
