Iphone 5 3G stops working at 1pm

Anonymous
Not applicable

Over the last few weeks I have noticed that my 3g stops working around 1pm every day. I have tried to reset the network etc but this makes no difference

I am in exactly the same place as I was in the morning, but it just stops working.

I have 3/4 bars/dots and the 3g symbol is showing, but I cannot access the internet

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

Ok

So it does sound like the mast congestion issue then.

Are you able to try an alternative phone in that time frame you experience the signal issues ?

Hi

If it's mast congestion then their is nothing much you can do apart from report the masts via the MYNETWORK app.

Also use the service checker.

http://status.o2.co.uk

Try switching off 3G to use 2g which can help.

Does anyone else on O2 in that area suffer the same issue ?

It's an all too common problem at the moment, sadly.
It's not actually a signal issue but the inability for the network to handle the traffic.
I don't know what to do as I've done everything regarding a similar problem in my home town and nothing has changed for nearly 12 months now.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

I'm in work and none of the other guys seem to have the same issue, it comes back on around 4, but I live in a major city so find it hard to believe that the masts would become congested at 1pm everyday for 3 hours and then become uncongested at 4pm everyday. Particularly as this has only recently started happening (3/4 weeks)

Are the others on O2 ?

Can you put your sim in another phone as a process of elimination.

I will just struggle on with what I have at the minute and seek an alternate provider next month when my contract expires, not a lot of point paying for data when the use of it is restricted for 3 hours a day

thanks for your help

Some have known the iPhone 5 to not hold into signal as well as other phones but ultimately it's up to you if you wish to move networks.

Try alternative network payg sims where you live , work and
Commute to ensure you get good signal.

If you do here are some help links I hope you don't mind me adding here.
