Anonymous

I have been experiencing the same issue for several weeks whereby all caller incoming calls go straight to VM on the first/second call and it is only upon the second or third call it rings. Please help!

Do not disturb mode is on ?
Turn it off in settings.

This.

You will know by a small cresent moon icon in the top right of the display. The setting is designed to let repeated calls through.

Hi,
You need to increase the ringing time which will stop the call diverted to voicemail directly.
You need to call **61*901*11*30#

So why does it ring on the second attempted call then?

It isn't a ringtime length problem, it's a connection problem, either the sim or a fault with signal.

Just to add a bit more detail to the answer that was given by my collegue wink

Turn off the manual and scheduled Do Not Disturb on the iPhone, and this resolves the problem

  • Go to Settings Scroll down to Do Not Disturb (quarter moon icon)
  • Click on the right arrow to expand the settings, showing the picture above
  • Use the slider to switch off Manual and Scheduled Do Not Disturb

Also switch off the Repeated Calls.

If you don't have the icon, try this....

  1. Tap Settings on your screen
  2. Scroll down to Phone icon, then expand it by tapping on it
  3. Scroll down to Call Forwarding icon, and tap on it
  4. Use the slide to switch it off.

I think its more of a connection issue too and not a voicemail issue. But just to rule out voicemail been an issue, could you turn VM off for the time been. Dial 1760 and the recorded message should confirm that its now switched off.

It's easy enough to switch VM back on later by dialing 1750.

Also, go to http://status.o2.co.uk and enter your postcode and see if there is a mast issue in your area. If nothing is shown try following the rest of this post.

Try a friend's O2 sim card in your phone to see if that's ok, if that sim card is OK and also if possible, go to an O2 store and get your sim card replaced or if you can't, call O2 customer service on 202. At least if O2 are making excuses about giving you a replacement sim, you can mention to them that you have already tried another sim card in your phone and that it worked fine.
