IPhone 4S 3G issue

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi,
My iPhone 4S has suddenly got the wifi option greyed out so cannot be used, I have searched the internet as well as speaking to someone in store and there doesn't seem to be a fixed, have restored, reset network, toggled airplane mode etc and nothing.
As well as this my 3G keeps loosing connection and changing to GPRS for no reason, I have plenty of data and coverage is fine.
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions other than hardware issue which means I will need a new handset.
I've had the phone approx 18months so not warranty etc
Thanks
Rachel

It's a common hardware problem on the 4s unfortunately. An out of warranty replacement from Apple would be your cheapest option.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Thanks for the link, there isn't an apple store near me so would involve travelling quite a way.
Not keen on if there only going to be able to tell me the same as the car phone warehouse or O2 gurus online.
No one seems to be able to offer any kind of solution, really frustrating when you can't use something you have had for the last 18months

Re network coverage checked that, don't have any problems usually and no one else in the area has any issues.

Apple do have a support option to send your iPhone in but as your out
If warranty a charge may be levied.

Here is the link for out of warranty costs which is a charge for a refurb handset.

O2 repairs could look at it For you but it's advised to let the manufacturer look at it as a first option.

Their is a freezer option which consists of putting the iPhone in a freezer bag and then in a freezer which is a short term remedy. Do this at your own risk !!
