Hi All
This might be a late reply to add to this post, but i have recently fitted the IO Play to my girlfriends Fiesta having removed it from her Corsa. I also have problems with the music cutting out, but i don't have an iphone, i have an ipod 5th gen.
We oringinally purchased the IO because my girlfriend didn't want to change the radio in her Corsa and i couldn't get a cable to fit the the standard radio and handsfree is now the law, so it means she can now talk and drive as well.
I have found that unfortunatley the sound quality from the IO is not great, unless you leave the sound down really low and would like to know if IO have/would do an upgraded amp??
I have just recently upgraded my phone and now have the Nokia 5800. I have paired my phone with IO, so it automatically connects, but i find that sometimes it doesn't pair automatically, other times it pairs soon as i turn the ignition on and other times it's slow at pairing. What really annoys me is when it pairs and also pairs for music streaming as if it thinks i am playing music from my phone, which then means i can't connect my ipod, so i have to turn my bluetooth off on my phone, wait for it to disconnect from IO then start my ipod playing and then reconnect my phone. If my ipod connects before the phone it's fine.
I have also found the radio now comes up with 1 HOUR, as if the ignition is off when it's on, this might be something to do with the SOT lead i ahd to fit, but this i can put up with.
I have also put my ipod in the glovebox now, as it seems to cut out more (like the problems people who have iphone's are having), when it's down near the ashtray (closer to the IO kit). The bluetooth transmitter also drains my ipods battery and then starts to cut out more again as my ipods power reduces. I have tried an alternative Sony transmitter, but unfortunatley this leaves me with no control of the ipod (as it's only connected via 3.5 jack) and the sound quality is no better either.
I am starting to regret getting the kit and would prefer a direct connection to the radio, as i have in my Astra, which powers the ipod and i have control through my kenwood radio, which also gives me great sound quality. I am considering just getting a simple handsfree that plugs into the cig lighter for my Astra and overall i think this would be the better way to go and cheaper, so now i need to convince my girlfriend the next time she upgrades her car.
If all 4 speakers aren't working in your car, then IO won't work properly as i found out when we first fitted it to the Corsa. If you have any questions you want to ask me feel free, i fitted the kit myself, which is fairly easy, the main problem is the cars space behind the dash and where to put the contol units.
My advice would be only get IO if you have no other option!
