I got give an IPhone 5s about 3 weeks ago put in the new 4g sim that o2 sent me. Transfered my number to new sim.

Changed my o2 tariff from pay and go go go to the 4g big bundles tariff that got changed over this morning but it's still showing as 3g and not 4g. I know I'm in a 4g area. How do I get my IPhone 5s to work with 4g settings have 4g ticked.

@darrenney02 I would advise you call o2 and not use live chat many errors from live chat

as @MI5 has said ensure it is a 5s. Also as @jonsie has said check the status page for your exact postcode and post the results back here.

edit as post crossed

ok so it is a 5s

Probably just need to be outdoors with good 4g coverage then.

I was out in the back garden a few mins ago and it still shown 3g. I know where I work 12 mins from me gets 4g fine as there is 3 mobile relay masts near there and most pepole in the office gets 4g on there phones. Two of them even have the newer IPhone 6 on o2.

please can you post the result from the status checker for your home location as 12 mins away can be a completely different mast ( is that walk or by car )

also I have no idea what you mean by 3 mobile relay masts ?

12mins away by walking I should have said. I near the bottem of a small hill.

There are 3 small mobile mast on top of the co-op shop near my work.

It says normal coverage for 2g with full bars.

Normal coverage for 3G with  full bars and normal coverage for 4g with full bars.

I have always had 2 or 3 bars out of the 4 for 3g signal where I stay even when I had my Nexus 4.

Where I work I always have a full 3g signal.

12 mins walking could take you out of range of a mast easily.

Yes, that's fine, but it's the data bolt on type that is important as mentioned previously.

Well those masts may not be o2 masts ! Use the coverage checker and enable masts to see o2's mast locations for home and work locations
