Unlock

I've also tried to unlock my 3g iphone. After spending £20 on a pay as you go sim, I've tried twice now to unlock and have subsequently received the text messages "we are unable to unlock your iphone..."
I've checked the faq's on the website and all criteria has been met, so why are these jokers not playing ball?
Perhaps they think I'll lose interest!

Unlock

Yesterday completed the form for a third time, exactly the same information as before and bingo! got the text this morning saying unlocked.

No logic to it.

Re: Help with unlocking iPhone

Hi,
I recently visited my local O2 store to ask them to unlock an iPhone that I got off a friend. We're having a number of issues as the phone won't accept the PAYG O2 sim card that I got specifically to unlock the iPhone...
Unfortunately everyone in the house is on a network other than O2 so we can't see if the sim works in any other phone...
Does anyone know if the free sims come with a pin lock on? And whether it is particularly important that the sim does not have a pin lock on for iPhone activation?
Also, if they fail to unlock the phone, does the £15 get re-credited??
Any help would be appreciated!!!! Thanks :smileyhappy:

Re: Help with unlocking iPhone

They are the same thing, some say lock some latch. If you look in the sticky by Adamtemp in general discussion the link is there.

Re: Help with unlocking iPhone

Thanks for the link.
I have filled out one of those forms already today.
I was in the 02 shop trying to sort this out.
The lady told me how to get my imi ? number which I would need to get my phone unlocked. She also said I would be able to do it my self on line by going to the unlatching link (unlock ?).
So am I to assume I have to wait upto 14 days for this to happen ?
Glad I kept my old Phone (unlocked) :smileyhappy:

Re: Help with unlocking iPhone

Is unlatching not the same as unlocking?
From my brief search on tinternet, it seems to be the same thing!
