I hope that this is an easy fix! I setup O2 email on my iPhone and iPad using my O2 account details and everything sets up perfectly except.....inbound is fine and I receive all messages.....outbound looks and sounds like it sends but it never arrives?? Please help as its driving me crazy as I thought people were just being ignorant when I didn't hear back :smileyhappy:

Haha, Freddyk, thinking people were ignoring you. Good thing you found out that's not the case! :smileyhappy:

Silly question, but have you looked through any instructions yet?

Re: Help sending email on iPhone and iPad

Yes I have googled and spent a bit of time looking for the answer but nothing really fits. My outbound settings are smtp.co.uk and port 25 and I have put in my account and password as well....

I recommend deleting the account and starting again. TRy sending an email to yourself. Or take it to the apple shop - the guys there are always happy to help

I set up my mams O2 email the other day. I noticed that when I sent a test email that initially nothing happened, but after a short space of time the test email was delivered. I'll try and remember the procedure I used and see if it differs from what you have done. 1: On your iPhone go into Settings/mail contacts calendars. Click on add account. 2: Choose OTHER from the list of email accounts. 3: Next choose the top option ADD MAIL ACCOUNT. 4: Next fill in your name, full email address, password, and give the account a discriptive name, eg my O2 email. After you have done this it will verify the info you have added and that should be it, your O2 email account should be up and running. Just check that the following are as follows: Incoming mail server section: Host name= pop.o2.co.uk Username= is your full email address Password= enter the O2 password that you created when you set up a O2 account Outgoing mail server section: SMTP= smtp.o2.co.uk Touch the SMTP in the outgoing mail server section. Make sure under the PRIMARY SERVER section that smtp.o2.co.uk is ON. Next touch the smtp.o2.co.uk in the PRIMARY SERVER section and ensure that in the OUTGOING MAIL SERVER section that the following are as follows: Host name= smtp.o2.co.uk Username= your full email address Password= enter the O2 password that you created when you set up a O2 account Use SSL= off Authentication= password Server port= 25 Lastly, in the ADVANCED SECTION: Incoming settings: Use SSL= off All the others leave as they are apart from SERVER PORT which needs to be on 110. Hope this helps.

Re: Help sending email on iPhone and iPad

Just a thought, in the Outgoing Mail Server SMTP settings, you do have the Server switched to 'ON'? Is the Authentication ticked as 'password'?
