Today I joined o2 and received an iphone 6, I text 20 people a message saying this is my new number, blah blah and have been charged £6.66 for messages? How can this be classed as a picture message?

Also, if you sent the text as one text to all the people, bulk messaging charges may have been applied, these charges can trigger if more than 5 recipients are selected.

Wow I never had any of these issues with three? I sent the message as a bulk message so thats where the charges have came from. Its pretty crappy to be honest!

I think most networks impose similar sorts of restrictions
