You won't be able to activate your old sim as it will have been disconnected from the network. Hopefully they will get the new sim provisioned quickly for you. Keep rebooting the phone but if it's not connected tonight then obviously I would contact them first thing either by phone or online chat. Bad advice in the first place from the store, probably before they were aware of the network problem. No excuse though.

Understandably, I would be angry too. Unfortunately there is no way round it. It isn't an automated service as someone has to physically provision the card and set it up on your account.
