Apple iOS Devices (iPhone, iPad, etc.)

Hi all,
I backed up my iPhone to iTunes last night and this morning after charging the new phone tried to set up the new phone which it has. However it doesn't have any of my app purchases.
There is a chance it was done under another Apple ID.
How do i get the apps back onto the phone? Majority of them were free to be honest, but what about the others? Would i need to log into iTunes on the other Apple ID?
Thoughts?

when setting up a new iphone you should be logged in to itunes with the apple id of the old phone and then just plug new phone in and setup as previous iphone .

If you've not done as Adam says, all your Apps are free to re-download, if you go to the App Store on your iPhone, and choose the updates option, the top of the screen is a link to all the apps you have purchased (free or paid for). You can either download direct to the phone, or use the list on there to find them on your computer in the itunes store to re-download.

If you have made a backup, you can plug in your iPhone, click your iPhone under devices on the left hand side, select 'Apps' at the top, and then select 'Sync Apps' and choose the Apps you want to sync. This will restore the Apps AND the data contained on them to your iPhone 4S which were previously on your 3G.
