Currently have 3 iphones in household (2x3GS, 1x4S) , all 3 have been unable to receive incoming calls (they go straight to voicemail, or if voicemail is off, call can't be connected. This all started to happen a couple of weeks ago. We tried the sim in an old Nokia and the O2 agent still couldn't get through.
Conclusion - Because so many handsets are involved O2 have agreed it is a network issue and say they have found a fault - but it hasn't yet been isolated or fixed.
If we go outside the range of our local tower everything is OK, users of other networks can mostly get through. So it looks as if its O2 to O2.
Outgoing calls OK, but incoming texts can take 5 hours to come through.
abs@O2 fixed a similar problem some time ago (on a similar thread). Are you still out there Abs@O2?

The above came to me from a Vodafone techie about my vodafone account. My Vodafone sim works perfectly in my smart-phone. My newly acquired O2 sim has calls going to voicemail as a matter of course and I can't trust it. If I can get this resolved 100 percent then I'll be happy... otherwise I'm porting my number to a system that actually works

I too have now been getting this issue and need to know what to do. Iphone 4 with the latest OS on it, trimmed down notifications to bare minimum, not an absurd amount of apps either. Push email not configured at all. Calls going straight to voicemail, no ringing, nothing. My mum is seriously ill these days and I need to know when she needs me, not after i hear it in a voicemail from her. Going home tonight to dust off an old nokia i have from 5 years ago but we need a solution. I pay for a service as do we all which clearly isnt working, for whatever reason. i dont care if its hardware or network. This hasnt happened to me in 4 years of iphone ownership until now. Surely someobody at O2 wants to fix it? Andy (Belfast)

Ok, so the O2 Guru just had me disable my voicemail and then re-enable it. Hmm, doubtful....but lets see if that helps. Has anyone tried that? A

is this in a 3g area?

The restarting of vioce mail has been known to cure faults

Also some have tried other things one suggestion is in the sticky usefull links thread that was for passcode errors on vvm but you could try that to see if it helps

Hey Adam, yes.....this is a 3g covered area and is typically an excellent signal being in the middle of Belfast. I didnt need to use a passcode at all to deactivate or activate my vvm even though the guru gave me a code. But yes, I will keep you all posted guys and let you know how it goes A

Hello , i have the same phone as you and same problems.

I generally recieve message pretty late, and it is rather fustrating when im trying to make a call as it does take quite a while to get through. 

Im not sure if they would charge the handset for a different model, but if you do get these problems again, i tend to restart my phone and switch on aeroplane mode for a min or so. This tends to help.
