Brand new iPhone 5s switches to GPRS

Anonymous
Not applicable

I signed up to O2 from Three last week, and upgraded to an iPhone 5s. At irregular times and in different (formerly connected) locations, it will switch to GPRS, and sometimes to E instead of 4G. This has been happening all week. I have switched it on to ariplane mode, then switched that off, but it still goes back to GPRS. WIFI works fine. I'm in a non 4G area (Brighton), but I should still get 3G.  Help!

Thank you. I have just moved here, don't know anyone local to ask. Will try the Mynetwork app. Cannot change the sim to another as it is a microsim, and only other sim to hand is not.

I'm using O2's Payg 4G tariff on my iPhone 5s with no issues.

Maybe going to the Appe Store for the genius to take a look can't harm.

Make an appointment first.

You need different apn's depending on which data tariff you are on....
Does your "My O2" show as iData or standard data bolt on?
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:

Nothing loads, no messages.  Just goes GPRS and can't access anything. Got a message when I first signed up from o2 telling me to check idata was in Settings if I couldn't access internet.

Under settings, mobile, mobile data network, does your APN read

APN - idata.o2.co.uk (PAYG - payandgo.o2.co.uk)
