4G setup for 6s confusion

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi, I recently upgraded my 4s to a shiny new 6s and was obviously very excited to be getting 4G...
However with the setup process o2 recommend visiting their website (/4G/setup) and checking the availability of 4G in your area. I did this; entered my new number and phone make. 3 out of 4 boxes are all good (phone make, 4G ready tariff, latest 4G software) but apparently not a 4G sim? (They sent me a new one with the phone which I am now using)
So I am slightly confused! Do I have 4G or not? My phone says yes but the online 4G setup says no.
Help please slight_smile

If you're phone shows the 4G symbol next to the signal then you have 4G access.

The online link is quite old and outdated now, its from when O2 first started 4G

Forgot the online checker as it's useless and has never worked properly. It also isn't needed.
4g phone, sim and be in a 4g area is all you need.

I did nothing on upgrade to my 6s and did not use the 4g checker.

And fine when in a 4g area.

I think it is time that the outdated checker is retired @Toby

as said only require a 4g enabled sim as all new tariffs are 4g

I agree. It's always caused confusion and never been necessary.
