samsung s2 picture message trouble

i cannot get pictures from daughter also on payg o2 or anywhere have reset apn to default tried with data on and off or just wifi help please

Hi there,

 

Over the air setting (2020) are not supported for this phone, so the settings have to be inputed manually. here are the complete step by step settings for the samsung S2. Hope this helps!

 

Please ensure that when entering O2 into the settings that the letter O is selected and not a zero.
When entering the following information do not press Save until told to in the instructions.
1. Tap the Applications key
2. Tap Settings
3. Tap More in Wireless and Networks
4. Tap Mobile networks
5. Makesure that the Mobile Data Enabled box has a tick in it (tap box to change)
6. Tap Access Point Names
7. Tap Menu button on the bottom left of the phone Tap new APN
1. Tap Name then tap the text box and enter O2 Pay & Go then tap OK
2. Tap APN thentap the text box and enter payandgo.o2.co.uk then tap OK
3. Tap Proxy then tap the text box and enter 193.113.200.195 then tap OK
4. Tap Port then tap the text box and enter 8080 then tap OK
5. Tap Username then tap the text box and enter payandgo then tap OK
6. Tap Password then tap the text box and enter password then tap OK
7. Skip past Server as this is preset as Not set
8. Tap MMSC then tap the text box and enter http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002 then tap OK
9. Tap MMS proxy then tap the text box and enter 193.113.200.195 then tap OK
10. Tap MMS port then tap the text box and enter 8080 then tap OK
11. Tap MCC then tap the text box and enter 234 then tap OK
12. Tap MNC then tap the text box and enter 10 then tap OK
13. Tap Authentication type and tap PAP
14. Tap APN type and tap Internet + MMS
15. Press the 3 Dots on the Bottom Right of the screen
16. Tap Save
17. Tap the circle next to the new profile so a green dot appears in it
18. Press the Back key four times to return to the main menu.
What To Do Next:
Switch your handset off and then back on to complete your settings.
The settings are now complete.
However, if you are still experiencing any issues using this service, please contact O2 Customer Services.

Text ACTIVE to 2020 ., save settings and reboot.

Double check to Ensure your mobile data is turned on in the phones settings.

Great post @Anonymous  My daughter in law had the S2 and had a similar problem. Was advised to do the above and worked for her....

She has an S3 mini now and had no problems getting picture messaging set up...:smileywink:

Also, please op, install one of the free multimedia messaging apps such as WhatsApp. Not only are they free, but the picture size is not reduced and compressed to the poor standards of mms.

They won't send or receive on wifi either so you need to make sure you have mobile data on, connected and in good coverage. 3g works best.
