Hi

Perhaps check your service status just to ensure no issues exist with your masts and give your sim a clean or if it continues visit an O2 shop and have it swapped out.

http://status.o2.co.uk

The switch should be seamless.

I do not have issues on my iPhone 5s.

Someone else had an issue with 4G on their HTC One recently and it required a sim swap to fix the issue.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

It is normal for the 4g to drop when you get a call but it should come back shortly after the call completes as suggested maybe a new sim would help
