Ok I see over on another forum I frequent. That some people are genuinely concerned that their xperia z2,3,3c might not be waterproof due to silly reasons such as a 0.3mm gap or whatever.
Now you can go to sony and request a vacuum test which will confirm the water proofing.
Or....
You can test it at home, without any water.
Here's how.
Open your dialler and dial *#*#Service#*#* this will take you to the service menu. Go to service tests and scroll down until you reach PRESSURE SENSOR.
Open it and lie your phone flat.
Making sure all your ports are closed, press the screen firmly (not enough to break it, that would be stupid) you should see the pressure reading jump by 10 points or so and will then return to previous reading (this is normal)
Then try the test with only the slightest gap in a port seal, the reading won't budge more than 1 point.

With ports closed and a reading jump of around 10 points, the handset is waterproof.

Very useful and informative, but the real test I guess would be water based Angel

Very clever guy 😄

I wanted to test the water proofing on the Z when trialling for O2 but was asked not to.

I believe the official test is a pint while you're in the loo.
