Unlock Galaxy S3

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all,

Got a rather surprising reply from O2 today after I submitted the unlock request form:

"Thank you for your unlatching request for IMEI ********************. The
mobile number that you provided is 079********.

I'm sorry, we have not been able to unlatch your device at this time.
The reason given is:

This is not an O2 device, it will not be possible for us to provide an
unlatching code."

How's that possible? O2 supplied the phone & it's locked to O2! Pretty sure Vodafone et al are not going to help.

Anyone got any ideas?

Sounds unlocked to me.
Try another sim in it.

Did you buy the phone from o2? Does it have the o2 splash screen when you switch on? Are you sure the phone is actually locked to o2?

Yes it's the usual system generated response for an unlocked phone.
