Transferring contacts etc... From iphone to z3

Anonymous
Not applicable
It's been over two week since I received my z3, and joined O2 and I haven't transfered my stuff over. Mainly because I still hadn't yet ported my number so I was still mainly using my iPhone. My number from Orange/EE ports over tomorrow so I'll no longer have access to my iPhone (end of an era!)

To the point... I understand I can either transfer date via a wire from handset to handset or I can do it via a computer. Could someone please advise me on which is the easiest way (handset to handset or computer.) I won't be transferring photos and music yet because I haven't got a micro sd card yet, it'll just be contacts and messages for now.

Thanks

Hi Viridis (guru of the Sony phones),

Thanks for getting in touch.

I connected the phones via the wire and started to gather data... then it said there wasn't enough space. I do not yet have an SD card and the available internal storage is 8.06GB. It didn't get to the point where it asked me to select what data I wanted to transfer.

I have since successfully transferred my contacts by exporting them via icloud then importing them via google so that's all cool.

So would I not be able to transfer my texts until I have a micro SD card?

Thanks

Do it via pc companion or sony bridge for mac.
Download it and run xperia transfer from within pc companion / sony bridge..
Select your old device type (ios) and then IT WILL prompt you on what you want to back up.
Once done, connect your z3 and select what you want to copy over.
Hit the button and pc companion will merge your old data with the new phone and create a backup too.
Sit back and peruse the o2 forum for self enjoyment.
Unplug phone when finished
