The worst experience ever!!! Sony Xperia Z won't charge... Insurance&Warranty

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I noticed that when I put my phone on charge, switched on or off, doesn't charge. I have connected it to different chargers now, tried switching it off for an hour but nothing happens,

I tried the warranty they say they cant fix , I tried the insurance and they say they can't cover... Any ideas???

I have only had it for 5 months.

Please help. Thanks

jonsie,

I understand your point and I thank you for that...

I just believe that O2 should be responsible for this situation even if it's alongside with Sony.

Thanks

I wouldn't trust O2's repairers word for anything tbh but O2 will stand by their conclusions. After all, they pay them a lot of money. Always send my phone to the experts if I have a problem. My S3 will be going to Samsung when I get back to the UK!

I’m not trying to be stubborn or arrogant…the reason I  raised this post was to try to find anyone who had the same type of experience .

It is my believe that a 2 year warranty and an Insurance cover should be enough to face a problem like this one.

Thanks

I understand Jonsie,

But it seems that neither Sony are willing to assume the responsability: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/Xperia-Z-micro-USB-port-weak-point/td-p/307643/highligh...

We have agreed with you on that, surely the thing is to get it fixed and argue the finer points later?

Stop reading the opinions of others and send it to Sony.

Fair comment but I'm just trying to point out the problems people have had with Anovo. Water damage is a particular money earner and no matter what, O2 will abide by the repairers decision. You will get an impartial result from the manufacturer.

That is terrible I would still try Sony, I was going to suggest you try out wireless charging but the xperia z does not properly support this. Question how are you charging it or are you not? At times like these I'm grateful my nexus devices support this and will probably pick up the new charger for situations like these!
Here are some links anyway if you are interested?

O2 won't admit there's a problem because they'll be out of pocket. Sony won't admit there's a problem (from personal experience), they're just sticking their heads in the sand and hoping that people will give up. I for one WILL NOT GIVE UP!

There's nothing to add here really, you've had our advice so here's hoping you get a solution.

The simple answer is.

This is a fault with the phone. you have had the phone more than 2 weeks so it's not covered by O2's returns policy. It is covered by Sony's 2 year warranty so it needs to be sent to them for repair.

Sony will turn it around in a couple of weeks and failing that they will send you another one.

It's not O2's fault it won't charge it is Sony's.
