Just wanted to know if anyone else have had similar problems as me as i dont know what else to do now......

Recently went on a weekend trip to Prague and was using whatever network o2 is partnered with over there and phone was working fine making and receiving calls..got on plane back to the UK and when i got off the plane i could no longer connect to the O2 network to make any calls. I could scan for networks and see the 2g/3g/4g o2 networks and register with them but then be told by my phone that the network was unavailable everytime i tried to callout.

Since then i have been to an O2 shop as i thought it might just be the sim and done a sim swap in store but same problem persisted. The o2 shop then sent my phone away to be repaired. I called to chase up the repair and was told their was nothing physically wrong with the phone, since then i have received a message from o2 saying the problem with my phone was not covered by warranty and was being returned. With my phone only being about 3 months old , was not damaged by myself accidently or otherwise and as far as i can tell is a problem that has developed because of the phones software i am slightly annoyed with the response i got.

Anyone had a similar problem or knows of solution to this?

*Rant over*

Hi

It's worth phoning O2 to check your account too.

202 contract.
4445 Payg

You could try going through the manufacturer via their uk support site.

If You put your sim in another phone can you connect to the network and ring out on.

Give customer services a call as i'm 99% certain you may have hit a spend limit/bar on your number whilst roaming.

Now your back in the UK, this can be lifted and your service can be restored!!!

Ok just seen your sim works in another handset.

You may just need to perform a manual network search on your handset

What did O2 repair say the fault was exactly?
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Hi,
Before contacting Sony, could you try the following.
Connect it to a pc and on your phone a pop up should appear saying "device connected to computer, install software?
Click yes.
Install pc companion (the software) onto you your pc and run it.
Once phone is connected click on back up and restore.
Do a full back up of everything.
Once complete, click on software update.
It will scan the net for new software and will prompt you on results.
Click on repair.
THIS WILL NOW WIPE YOUR PHONE.
Once complete, turn on phone.
Re-enter set up information as on first power on.
Check you are now getting signal.
If so proceed with next step
If not seek repair from Sony

Reconnect to pc
Click restore
Choose the restore file from earlier
Restore
Enjoy.

My contract is unlimited minutes and texts so i wouldnt be spending anymore now im back..I spent hardly anything whilst there on roaming and calls as i had the travel bolt on and was paying a fixed £1.99 a day for unlimited data, think i only had extra charges of about £6 for the entire weekend.

OK, i can try this phone reset method once i get my phone back, although i did do a factory reset through the option on my phone, not sure if that gets to the same result.

No, factory reset is less brutal than repair flash.
Reset will clean what's on it already, flash will replace the files
