Sony Xperia z3 released early to compete with iphone?

Certain rumors started a few days ago regarding vodafone Germany and the z3.
Rumor had it that they had xperia z3 in stock and would ship early to pre orders.
Vodafone Germany customers have today received tracking info and will receive the phone on Monday along with a free pair of Bluetooth headphones (called it) valued at €199.
Seriously, o2 get some pricing.

I heard and read this too, shipping a week earlier than expected but looking at Sony Uk site they have recently changed the shipping date to the 3rd October so I don't know what to expect.
