Samsung S4 taking most of the day to charge

Anonymous
Not applicable

Had my S4 back in September 2014. Started having problems with battery expansion in March 2015, contacted samsung (I had a faulty battery) battery was replaced all was well. This last week I've noticed the battery is taking forever to charge. If someone could please suggest some ideas (hopefully I've added something I shouldn't?), I don't think it's the battery again, could it be the wall charger? Any info gratefully received TIA

On the second charger you tried, was it a samsung or other?
Look for small writing and what output does it state?
Also, just for sake of elimination, can you remove your SD card while charging and see how it does then.

Not sim card, SD card if one inserted.
I would try a more powerful charger tbh as a 1a charger will charge slow anyway.
See if any friends have a 1.5a to 2a charger and try that.

Yes, should definitely be a 2 amp charger.
My Note 4 takes about 6 hours on a 1 amp charger compared to 1.30 hours on a 2 amp with fast charge enabled.

I would expect the battery to be fully charged in  2- 2.5 hours with a 2 amp charger. Short of a factory reset or new battery maybe get the phone checked out by Samsung.

I agree, something seems wrong, there were some(very rare) reports of the battery bulge issue causing other problems but samsung will have to take a look to see exactly whats wrong.

I'd try another battery next but also make sure your battery contacts are all clean and giving a good connection.
Also check the port where you plug the charger in to make sure it's not full off fluff.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Had new battery in march this year due to the other swelling up. Wondering if maybe it caused something internal to go wrong??? Back on the phone to samsung again
