Samsung S3 won't switch on

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hi, this morning my Samsung S3 would not show my lock screen when pressing the white button at bottom of phone. So took battery out to refresh and switch back on but it won't turn on now. I get the galaxy screen come up and then the SAMSUNG sign, but then it just keeps rolling back to galaxy start up screen and SAMSUNG again. Any ideas or should I call and speak to someone? Phone is 12 months in to my 24 month contract.

First try a soft reset. Hold the on buttom and home buttons down for around 10 seconds to see if the phone reboots.

If this fails try clearing the cache.

Turn off the phone and remove the battery. Wait 2 minutes and put it back
Press and hold down Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time.
Release all buttons when you see S2 Logo.
Android system recovery will be loaded now
Select clear cache partition. (Volume buttons to go up or down, select with Home button)
Then select reboot. You won't lose any data stored on the phone.

Next option would be a factory reset but you need to have the phone backed up as it will be wiped to factory condition.

Turn off the phone and remove the battery. Wait 2 minutes and put it back
Press and hold down Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time.
Release all buttons when you see S2 Logo.
Android system recovery will be loaded now
Select wipe data/factory reset. (Volume buttons to go up or down, select with Home button)
