I recall somewhere on O2 twitter account that O2 will be dispatching S3 pre-orders 29/30th May. I can't seem to search O2's twitter posts.

Does anyone know if this is confirmed/true?

I have pre-ordered it as my upgrade. I Know the release date is 29th of May, but is that when the phone will be shipped, or we will recieve it?

Same here. I suspect that upgrade pre-orders will go out on the 29th. It must be a sizeable proportion of preorders for sure.

Sold the initial batch? Pre-orders alone are two months of Samsung production. I suspect this phone will be as hard to get as the iPhone on launch.

Good point - I hadn't given that any thought. I wonder if they'll have any stocks in their stores come the launch? Can't say I'm terribly happy about the £99 upfront o2 also want for it as others are offering it without any extra cost. It might be time to consider either another phone or even network :-(

Mid June is still only 10-15 days after launch date so not long to wait, really. Carriers including o2 are releasing the GS3 at 7pm 29th May an hour after their flagship store in London releases it. I spoke with o2 who said to expect delivery around 5 days after launch. Its a pain that the launch falls over the bank holiday weekend. Mine is now pre-ordered so hopefully not a long wait but i'm not too fussed if it takes a few more days to reach me. My other half is with Orange who have said the same regarding delivery timescales. You are likely to be with this phone for 2 years so a few days of waiting won't harm you.
