If he's just received it likely it will be marshmallow.
Have a look in android version under about phone in settings.
If not I'll check when I get home.

Following this 6.0.1 update, my Note 4 has been near unusable. Turning itself off, but not rebooting unless battery pulled out. Occasionallygoing into recovery mode or ODIN mode. Have tried many Master Resets using combination keypress on boot, and still receiving problems.

 

Does anyone have any infor on downgrading to 5.1.1 via custom ROMs? Having trouble finding UK Rom on Samsung Website. Have located a file on FileGator but not sure how trustworrthy.

 

I currently have a £400 brick on my desk... help?
