Nexus 5 - Duplicate Texts in Abundance!

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

Currently i have received the same 3 text messages from the same contact, just over 100 times.

Sometimes it stops for maybe an hour or two, then it starts again. It is driving me crazy!

The contact has spoken to their provider and can confirm no issues, so it must be mine. Can anyone adivse what to do? I have deleted Hangouts app, reinstalled, disabled, restarted, cleared cache...

Any advice is much appreciated!

A faulty sim card can give you this issue. Go into your local store and get it changed. It's quick and easy.

Happened to me once, a friends sister, in her car, in France, with her phone in her handbag sent me over 250 texts, before I could get them to stop.

I'll be surprised if this is down to your end though.

As jonsie suggests try a new sim.

It can also be a network issue according to Nexus forums. They are suggesting a network reset...

Thanks for the advice guys! I will definitely pop into the o2 shop this afternoon and see about a Sim change or network reset. Glad to know there are other's out there who've had the issue as well :).

http://status.o2.co.uk/ Check your local mast status too in case of issues.
You are receiving the text multiple times because your network hasn't correctly informed the sending network of delivery.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
