As anyone received a notification today advising of a new ICS update? If so what does it include? More to the point in my case how can I stop the message telling me to update? I don't want it as my phone is working fine (including my Bluetooth to car link - thanks to MI5) I don't want to risk loosing the Bluetooth set up but the message keeps asking me to update and when I say cancel it wants to know when it should remind me again 30mins, 1 hr or 3 hrs - very annoying

Done that but the message says the update has been downloaded and is ready to install. Will removing the Samsung account stop the message coming up?

I thought not. I've been on to android-rsap.com to see if their software works with 4.04 and they seem to think that rsap "may" be in the new release so I may be ok to update. Martin Gerczuk of android-rsap says their software should work by disabling the Samsung rsap app. I may just have to go through and try this out. I'll let you know the outcome

I found the 4.0.4 update disasterous, the telephone became laggy and unresponsive at times. Also the launcher kept crashing. The serial numbers display get falsely displayed in the About settings.
Having said that I do, have international ROM on my PC ready for redeployment for when I'm ready to reinstall it. Won't the JB update next year anyway?

That's not good to hear. To be fair I did read several bad reports of ICS 4.03 when it first came out. In fact I had a dreadful time in loading it (not to mention loosing existing functionality). That said ICS 4.03 has been good, stable and error free. I do like the new functionality of ICS. Certainly battery time has improved - not by much - but noticeable. I would like to hear more experiences about 4.04 and most importantly if rsap has been re-instated so I can use Bluetooth in my car. I'm not sure that the "new functionality" will be of any use to me and would prefer to stick with 4.03 if I could but my phone keeps telling me every 3 hours that the update has been downloaded and is ready to install. Its only a matter of time before I hit the wrong key and install by mistake.

What I do recommend after any firmware update would be to, clear the phone caches for user and system plus a factory reset/refresh. There's two ways to do this from the Backup and Restore Menu or by dialling *#*#7780#*#*
